Specialized in the interpretation of japanese filmmakers since her first work assignment with Akira Kurosawa during the Cannes Film Festival 1980. Catherine Cadou is also the author of the French subtitles for more than 200 Japanese feature movies. In 2005, she directed a self-financed documentary about the life at Kiba, in Tokyo: Kiba Tokyo Micropole.
